It was California Dreamin' with our very own Mamas & Papas!  Pop and Mama made the long trip for Harrison's 1st Holy Communion celebration.  And Auntie Katie flew in for a long weekend of fun & merriment.  On their first day, Harrison's class was hosting a special Grandparent picnic at the park, so the timing was perfect!  They surprised him and all enjoyed the beautiful, bright sculptures and sunshine.   Even Pop got 'up close and personal' with snakes twice his size!  They also ventured over to the ocean, took in the gorgeous views and sampled San Diego's choice delicacy, fish tacos.  On Friday evening, we celebrated Mama's birthday/Mother's Day with delicious mini cupcakes from a bakery in San Francisco, compliments of Auntie Katie.  The catch game  and 'Flarp' toy Katie brought the kids were also a huge hit with everyone.  Karrington loved the farting Flarp.  She would make the sound, and then giggle uncontrollably.  She enjoyed it much more than our boys, who were somewhat disgusted with the soft, gooey feel of the noisy goop.   On Saturday, the boys had a much larger cheering section than usual, and they both played their lil' hearts out.  After the games, Auntie Katie and Pop took the kids to lake Poway.  They played at the park and watched High School prom dates gather for beautiful photo opps.  That evening, we introduced everyone to the game of angry birds... our dinner table resembled the Genius bar at Apple stores.   Sunday was Harrison's day to shine.  He looked so handsome!  We took photos with Monsignor Dolan after the mass, and as Harrison sat down next to him, the Monsignor glanced over at Anderson and said, "oh, we'll get to you soon enough!"  It reminded me of the time we first met one of my sister-n-law's relatives, a criminal defense attorney in Chicago.  Anderson was 2 and 1/2 years old at the time, and he was just running around doing his thing.  I introduced myself to Amy's uncle, and then pointed to my boys.  He grinned and said, "oh that one will be a future client."  At this rate, we're in for a real treat during his teenage years!  Anyway, we enjoyed a lovely brunch at the Rancho Bernardo Inn after the mass, and then spent the afternoon relaxing at our house.   Pop & Mama then stayed through the week until Thursday, enjoying more baseball, beaches and of course, geocaching.  They even took the kids on a geocaching hunt and the boys found the small treasures.  Before Pop and Mama departed, they offered to watch our lil' monsters so we could enjoy an evening out.  It was great to have another night to ourselves- two dates in one month!  Grandparents are welcome anytime!  Thanks again for everything!  Good times were had by all... until the next adventure!

Looks like fun was had by all! I know Pop and Mama had to most fun of all.

Boys you need to give your Pop another lesson in Angry Birds, He stayed up until midnight trying to get past the level I was stuck on. :)

Angry Birds make me so angry!!

You know Mama had a good time because you couldn't wipe the smile off her face or the laughter from coming in the pictures. :)
