SOOO excited to see his big brother!
First day of school! Harrison was so excited about his big day. New Albany has a slow start for kindergartner's, so we watched the older kids get on the bus all week before it was Harrison's turn. He was more than ready! He woke up early, dressed himself, brushed his teeth and hair, put on his new Transformers backpack and ate breakfast... cinnamon toast, the breakfast of kindergartners! Then, we all went outside to walk to the bus stop together, but before we left, Harrison wanted to take care of the dead mole Mommy found on the driveway. So we threw the furry critter in the woods and headed toward the stop where the other kids were already waiting. Within minutes, the big yellow bus turned the corner and pulled up. Harrison was the first to get on. He quickly sat in his assigned seat and looked out the window with the biggest grin. He was so happy, and then a little confused, when he saw his mommy crying. I couldn't help it; even Daddy had a hard time... there's just something so dramatic about watching your child get on the bus and pull away; it's one of his life's milestones! After the bus left, we jumped in the van and headed for the school to watch Harrison get off the bus. I think Anderson thought we were going to pick him up, so he was excited...and then a little upset when he realized we were leaving Harrison at school. AJ tried to hug him as he lined up with his classmates; he's truly Harrison's biggest fan. It was so fun to see the excitement in Harrison's eyes; he couldn't wait to get inside and start his day. I was so proud of him! The younger kids and I headed home and kept busy until 12:30. Then, we sat on our front step waiting for the big yellow bus to bring home our new student. As soon as the bus pulled up, Anderson ran to meet Harrison. His buddy was finally home! Harrison's favorite part of the day was riding the bus, and he cannot wait until Tuesday when he gets to do it all over again! Ready or not, the school year has begun!
