From Northern Ohio to Northern Michigan

So we started our lake vacation with a DeVore family reunion at catawba island... Gammy & Poppy supplied plenty of good food (I can still taste the juicy steak!), drinks and fun. It was so nice to relax and enjoy the new boat and everyone's company. Of course, the boys fished and fished... and this time, they convinced Uncle Keith to help them take their fish off of the hook... (thanks Keith!). The time flew by, but every minute was just great! Before the weekend was over, my parents treated us to the Japanese Steakhouse for my birthday- again, delicious food and priceless entertainment. The boys were fascinated (Uncle Greg included... only kidding) by the chef and the chopsticks. And Karrington was such a trooper... she slept the entire time! We were sad to leave, but before we headed further north, we stopped by Grandpa Don's to see Aunt Pam and Uncle Chesley (from Texas). It was so nice to catch up, and fuel up with a great lunch before our 6 hour trek to Indian River, MI.... the drive was a lil' crazy with 3 kids, but we made it! And we were warmly received by good ol' Uncle Tom... the boys loved his place on the lake (the view is gorgeous). Anderson really enjoyed Uncle Tom's moose foot stool... it was so soft on his bare bottom :) We spent some time at the beach, ate more delicious food, did a little boating and jet skiing, fed the trout at the hatchery, tried to fish (no luck) and ended our vacation "up north" with the boat races. We were so sorry to head home... but Harrison starts KINDERGARTEN next week, so it was time. Thanks to all of our family for the good times... we cannot wait to see you again!
